temple cycles alfine review

Name: Chris
Bike: Classic Hybrid Alfine
Usage: Commuting and touring

I was looking for a stylish but practical bike for commuting and for longer more relaxing rides into the surrounding countryside. Matt talked through what I was after and put together a great bike for my needs. The Brooks saddle is very comfortable, as are the leather grips. The Alfine hub gears fit in with the neat look of the bike, give a great range for the hills, and for day to day commuting are much easier to keep clean than a dérailleur and cassette, especially when paired with mudguards.

The lugged steel frame is lively and finished very nicely. It isn't just the looks that turn heads - you can put on a surprising turn of speed on the smooth-rolling and solid Mavic A319 rims, and I've left a number of cars standing at traffic lights! The polished Temple cycles finishing kit and powder coated paint top off a seriously good-looking bike. All in all, if you're looking for something a little different and designed by a British company, then I'd thoroughly recommend a Temple.
